Who do you serve?

Friend to Friend provides services to adult survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking.

How long can I stay at Serenity House?

Women and their children can stay from one night up to three months in our free, safe shelter, Serenity House, which provides a safe, confidential, and supportive refuge for women and their children.

Do you assist male victims?

Yes. We provide crisis-intervention services 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to both female and male victims.

Who do I contact to come to the shelter?

Call our crisis line at 910-947-3333 to speak with a trained advocate, who will do a free, confidential call-screening process.

How do I become a volunteer?

Please visit the Volunteer section from the main menu. Fill out and submit a volunteer application. A Friend to Friend advocate will contact you.

How do I fill out a restraining order?

Restraining order documents can be picked up at the Moore County Courthouse in downtown Carthage. To get help and support filling out the restraining order, visit the Friend to Friend office at 103 Monroe Street ( across from the Court House). A Friend to Friend court advocate will assist you in filling out the restraining order, free of charge, no appointment, necessary. All information and services are free and confidential.

Do I need a restraining order to stay at Serenity House Shelter?

No. We don’t require that you have a restraining order to come to the Serenity House Shelter.

What type of donations do you accept?

Friend to Friend accepts gently used clothing, furniture, household items, cleaning supplies, gift cards, toiletries, paper products, laundry detergent, trash bags, and monetary donations. All donations can be dropped off at the Butterfly Boutique Thrift Shop at 125 S. Bennett St., Southern Pines, or at our office at 103 Monroe St. in Carthage. All donations are tax deducible.
